ARCHITECTURAL HISTORY AND THEORY

A chronological survey of the developments of Ancient architecture to Western architecture from the beginning of time to the period of Enlightenment, with consideration of the intellectual, aesthetic, technological, political and economic factors which have influenced the design of buildings. These issues are explored with reference to major contemporary examples and the work and philosophy of significant exponents.

Project 1

The history of architecture traces the changes in architecture through various traditions, regions, overarching stylistic trends, and dates.  However, many historical buildings may face the risk of being demolished to make way for more contemporary buildings. Thus, by recording, documenting, and analyzing the buildings, we can contribute to preserving the historical evidence of the valuable historical Architecture.

Project 2

The historical diversity produces an extremely lively architectural fabric. However, there is a chance that many old structures will be torn down to make place for more modern structures. As a result, by observing, cataloging, and analyzing the structures, we may help to preserve the historical records of the priceless historical architecture.
