Project 1

Assessing Daylight & Thermal Comfort at Modern Houses

Anchor 4

Task

Choose a corner lot, a two-story terraced home, or a two-story semi-detached home for your group of six people, and examine the challenges of thermal comfort and daylighting in one room each. Collect data on the psychometric chart, the solar path chart, and relevant meteorological information. You should also keep track of the temperature five times each day and the lux readings three times per day. Compile the findings, offer recommendations, and include illustrations, sketches, and drawings to improve passive design for daylighting and thermal comfort. Describe the problems in two A2 size posters.

We choose our team leader, Ching's home as our site.

REFLECTION

My role in this assignment is to make all the technical drawings by hand and also basic digital sketches that I can conduct on my Ipad. The reason I choose to handle these two tasks is that it's been a challenging thing for me since the foundation. In this assignment, I was blessed because I got to team up and learn with my seniors as they were all professionals in their respective fields. For example, Ching is good in leadership, and Brandon is good in rendering ths Lee is good in digital graphics.
